Installing WildCat Blue Recaro SR4 seats and Blue door panels – DC5 Integra Type R Interior Conversion Part 3

Things have been really coming together for the RSX. In part 1 and part 2 of this blog series, I’ve gotten really in depth on removing and cleaning the RSX to get ready for the Type R look. I am now few steps closer to my DC5 Integra Type R Interior Conversion.

This last post is really about completing the look. I am adding the WildCat Blue Recaro SR4 Seats to the RSX. I am also replacing my black door panels with the Blue Type R panels.

Finding RSX Seat Brackets for Recaro Seats

The first thing I did was find the correct right seat brackets to mount everything. It’s sort of the glue between the seats and the chassis. I found a company that makes seat brackets from scratch, however, there are plenty of other companies. DC5 owners recommended Planted seat brackets and Wedge seat brackets. I decided to use Wedge because the price was fair, the quality was good, and they make the seat bracket with sliders for an extra fee. These days, it is hard to find exact DC5 seat brackets by itself. And even when you buy DC5 seats, they don’t come with seat brackets.

The mounting was simple, I just needed to find the right bolts to connect the seat bracket to the Recaro Seats. Then add the seat belt buckle that I was reusing from the original RSX. You have to make sure you slide the wire underneath otherwise you’ll be taking it off again. Then bolting up the seat is very simple as putting it back. The holes line up perfectly.

After you put the first seat in, make sure you put the center console back before putting the last seat in. It’ll make life easier as you won’t be dealing with tight spaces.

SRS Light Reset: Using passenger seat sensor and 2 Ohm Resister

One thing I’m quickly going to mentioned is by adding Recaro SR4 seats, you’ll have an SRS light because we originally had side airbags in the Type S seats. I put a video on my YouTube channel and linked it below, but I go in depth on prepping the car to get rid of the light. This involved removing the passenger seat sensor to place back in the car, and using a 2 OHM resister on the SRS harness. You’ll also have to reset the SRS system after doing this. Here’s a few photos on what I’m talking about, but the videos do it more justice.

Installing Type R door Panels

The Type R door panels was easier. There’s a few bolts hidden along the panel, but ones those are out, it unhinges quickly. You lift up from the door lock at the top.

I made some YouTube videos showing what hardware I used and how I installed them on my channel, RevCircle@. You can view that here:
