I found issues and had excessive play in the rear end of my car. Taking a closer look, it involved replacing bushings that don’t come with any after market control arms. I picked up some Honda OEM bushings and took the challenge of replacing them.
Replacing my old bushings on my rear knuckle wasn’t an easy job as it required using a Press and Pull sleeve kit. This kit includes a few rods and a dozen sleeves of various sizes.
I found a smaller axle nut to push out the bushing since the provided sleeves were too large. The kit still had a small enough sleeve to intercept the old pushing as well as the rod they provided in the kit. Below you can see the axle nut going through the knuckle, and the bushing slowly leaving the knuckle.
Installing the bushing was the reverse order. However, we are pushing the bushing in the same direction as we pressed it out. After that, I just bolted everything back and torqued it to spec. This kit requires a bit of muscle to use as power tools are not recommended.
